Is it just me or is the gaming market becoming incredibly saturated?

I am constantly blown away by how many games are being released on a constant basis. Especially with the rise of indie games that don't suck, it feels like consumers already have a lifetime supply of games ahead of them.

Do you guys see implications?
-It becoming increasingly harder to sell games with the amount of FTP games
-It becomes increasingly hard to create an original game
-People will realize how many games are already out there and understand that it is silly to buy new games when so many have been unexplored (me)
-It will be increasingly hard for people to get their games heard of, let alone sold at a reasonable dollar

-The Free Market allows the video game industry to collapse.  This fortunate event kills off Microsoft and Apple's interest in gaming, Nintendo and Sega finally close up shop and are burried etc.  The two winning survivors are Sony and Valve who ride off into the sunset, promising us The Last Guardian and Half-Life 3 for our patience as the jeux vidéo market corrected itself.

nintendo rose from the ashes because they weren't nintendo's ashes - they took advantage of a market that could pose little competition for them at the time

now they're the ones burning up, so i doubt it would play out the same

this time, it'll be apple flying valiantly from the dust as the industry dinosaurs exterminated by the asteroid of change

Nintendo is coming out with some weird "non-wearable device," they seem to be jumping off the gaming ship here pretty soon.

Most of these corporations are shooting themselves in the foot because they lost their roots, and this certainly includes Valve. Look at the shitty RPG Maker games you see in the shops that still use the default tilesets because the idiots making them bought bots to get it greenlit and pretend it looks good, or they're banking off the fuckwits who like Naruto.

"Good indie games" is also a fucking joke. Minecraft is now shit, Terraria is shit, Starbound is shit entirely because of Tiy, and that's three big titles off the bat that everyone can name because PROCEDURALLY GENERATED IS THE FUTURE AAAAAAAAAAAAAA. No, shut up. The good indie games are still few and far between because instead of suits after numbers, you have a few kids in a garage autofellating until a game comes out that might interest all of four people and have to be marked down for clearance bin prices in fucking bundles where you get 200 of the pieces of shit for $4.

The worst part is even for the corporate who are shooting themselves in the foot for caring about numbers and not really doing market studies at all, they're more successful because they are managing to branch into more than just games, because just doing games is going to just get more costly as the time and effort and staff needed to produce one of the shitty new AAA games increases because of (relatively slowly) advancing technology.

Don't you know the future is mobile?

It's beginning to seem that video games really aren't an art form. How can they die so easily? For art, it's way too dependent on (shitty american) consumers.
