I am a fan of alternative daylight... i mean don't get me wrong i love the sun one of my favorite things out there but we can't rely on it forever and for everything. Some popular alternatives such as the electric light and LED flashlights are good. Candles are archaic but get the job done, unless you really need to brighten a place up. Fire places are nice if one wants to feel old timey aristocratic. A friend and I have been exploring the possibility of trans-optical surgery and replacing our eyes with cat eyes so we won't even need light. But plants and things that eat plants and things that eat things that eat plants will still need some form of light so I guess we better keep the sun around for our main light source.
