No, the social justice people are much broader and include the gay community as well

Boogus Epirus Aurelius

This is a pretty stupid conversation.

famy

i worked at mcdonald's for three months i think and i only did cashiering and one time i took an order for a deaf and mute couple and no one spoke sign language, so i just wrote down what they were pointing at and showed it to them and they shook their head in agreement so i took their order and they paid and sat down. and when their order was ready it was apparently wrong and they were very angry but couldnt say so. so they slammed their food on the table and made a mess and looked angry. fuck them

Ableism is a fucking shitty thing to do, people

Being mad with certain individuals or communities is fine if it's on a personal basis, but the concept of ableism is that NOT being deaf is inherently better than being able to hear, which may be true, but it's used to discriminate in professional fields where hearing might not actually be completely necessary on-the-job

if you think that discrimination of that kind is okay then I've got bad news

you might be an asshole

a large number of people within the deaf community think people who can hear are assholes and hearing is a completely unnecessary sense

also, a large number think that the problem with the world isn't that they're deaf, but that people don't know their sign language because as you know we can all learn an infinite number of languages

here are some retarded feminists bitching about why hearing people need to check their privilege and stab their eardrums out: http://np.reddit.com/r/SRSDiscussion/comments/1ah1gq/
