I can't justify spending any more than $15 or $20 on a shirt.
but then how can people inaccurately judge you without even knowing who you are???????

bluaki

Depending on the type of shirt, I might pay a bit more than snowy's mentioned price range. I'm not too familiar with clothes for formal or cold occasions, but even with those I'd imagine I definitely wouldn't pay anywhere close to $100 for a single shirt/vest/jacket/etc of any kind. Outside of dresses and other full-body outfits, I don't remember seeing any kind of single article of clothing in triple digit price range that I might consider to be worth that much.

In my particular case, I doubt the price of my clothes would have much of any effect on people's first impressions of me giggle;

Mostly because I have more noticeable other reasons for negative impressions

Mando Pandango

I think I'd pay around $100 for a nice jacket, but that's really it.
