i didn't like alcohol for a while until i moved a place with a much colder climate/higher altitude and its way more fun lol. but you guys all probably live in cooler places with high altitudes.

that's interesting. you sure it isn't the people that you surround yourself with?
i feel like i have the most fun with alcohol in the sun during the summer.
in bellingham the winters are pretty brutal for washington standards and drinking is definitely less enjoyable when you're stuck inside because of downpour or freezing temperatures

Drinking inside or when you're cold or uncomfortable is borderline suicidal. I agree with the warmth and outdoors.

YPrrrr

And personally, I like drinking when it's cold, wet, dry, warm, windy, calm, morning, or night

Though not costantly n_u

drinking constantly kind of sucks
i went through a two week period between the end of the camp i worked at and school starting where i would drink every night and then be hung over almost every morning. the small window between being hung over and before i started to drink again was the only time that i could do things
it was kind of silly

Definitely not. All my closest friends who I enjoy being inebriated with live in Phoenix. I actually don't really have any close friends in Flagstaff. Last friday it was like 28 degrees at midnight and I think it was the most I've enjoyed being drunk in a long time.
Drinking in the summer in phoenix SUCKS it is soooo hot. Even too hot most of the time to drink by the pool. I hate drinking in the heat. When it gets snowy and cold here I'm just gonna bundle up and drink and be warm I'm cool w it
kill them w kindness

i never liked alcohol
it's why i drink shots straight up

i just like how it feels sometimes
under medication i get amplification so now i don't need that much alcohol to get a buzz

i don't understand people who drink to themselves
what's the point WHO ARE YOU SOCIAL WITH THEN

also it's such a strange thing for me to become drunk
i'm either livid and brilliantly social or the completely opposite (pained by extreme sadness and bedridden with guilt)

Andria

I don't drink socially most of the time. I like drinking alone.

and if I want to socialise I will just talk to people on aim

One time I was filling out some time sheets and progress notes for this other job that I occasionally do, and of course I had a bottle of Raki out, taking small shots from it every now and then. Nearby was this Men's Health magazine and I was drawn to its plaster feel and look and the whole image that my mind formed. Well, flipping through the pages, I noticed an article that purported to tell the 10 signs that you're an alcoholic, and one of them was drinking alone. I laughed, and took a huge swig. Then I though, good job publication, but not good enough to affect my psychology. Power be to you and your manner of life.

Andria

People thinking drinking alone is a sign of alcoholism is just a societal thing. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a nice drink and having some alone time with your thoughts. Fuck anyone who says otherwise
