Daddy

The coaxial (cable) jack in my room is not active and I need to follow the line down into the basement.

I'm not sure of an easy way to do this considering I live on the second floor.  I want to hook my cable box up :(  I've tried to search but I can't find any cables that seem to belong to the jack in my room.  I don't have a cable tracer either. I know some ghetto methods involve using a multimeter on one end of the cable while using a wire to connect the middle (positive) to the negative (the wiring outside that metal needletype thing) on the other end and to find the drop.

However, I can't really find any disconnected cables in the first place. Verizon can't come for two weeks. I WANT TO USE MY CABLE BOX
