if someone likes something you post, you get a little notification. same with a reply.
your homepage is a little subdomain that you can customize and give various themes. people that subscribe to you see your posts in their subscription stream, like anyone else they follow.
it's pretty simple to figure out. a lot of teenage girls seem to like it.
