Go Down

Hiro

I posted this on my tumblr, and I don't feel like retyping it, so I'll just repost the whole thing:

Just got home from the hospital. I passed out during my last class of the day, but we’re not exactly sure what happened.

I felt like I was falling, spinning, being thrown around rapidly, wind rushing all around me. Strange, crowded noises all over the place. I couldn’t open my eyes, and I couldn’t open my mouth, which was painful because I was biting my tongue. I almost felt like my whole life had been just a dream and that this is what reality was.

Finally, I managed to get my tongue back into my mouth and open my eyes, where everyone was standing around me, telling me to lay down and just relax. I needed to sit up though, to regain my grounding and make sure I could control my body. I was drooling all over the place. I tried to respond to them, but only slurred sounds would come out of my mouth. Oh god, I hope I don’t have brain damage.  I thought I might have had a stroke or something. Everything was a blur.

I eventually managed to sit up, a challenge since I could barely move my arms correctly. They kept jerking and twitching. My speaking started to come back, but I still sounded like I had food in my mouth and I could only speak slowly. I laid back down, and the paramedics arrived. They had me say my name, what year it was, things like that. Then they put a neck brace on me and put me on a stretcher and rolled me to the ambulance. At that point, I was coherent again. I could speak (through the breathing mask), I could somewhat see clearly (my glasses had fallen off), and I could move properly, although I felt extremely weak.

I got to the hospital, and my mom and sister arrived shortly after. From then on a nice guy took blood, did a blood sugar test, blood pressure test, urine test, etc. I was rolled into a room to get a brain scan. Most of the time though, I just talked to my mom and sister while we watched food network and waited for the test results.

After having me walk around the hallway a few times to make sure I could, they told me everything was fine, and that I could go home. I was in there for 6 hours, but I feel okay now.

I just have a headache now and I'm covered in heart monitor stickers, but I'm alright now. Thanks for the concern. happydood;

Sucks. Glad you are feeling good now.  :(

My sister used to have seizures multiple times every day. Hers were nothing like this. But your mileage my vary.

I used to have seizures pretty frequently when I was between 1 and 3 years old. The last time I passed out (and possibly seized) was when I was 12, and they couldn't find anything wrong with me then. Luckily I was already at the doctor when it happened  hocuspocus;

This one was much different from that one though. With that one I woke up immediately afterward and was perfectly fine. This one felt real, it felt violent. It was possibly the scariest feeling of my life, I thought I would be trapped there forever.

well I was in my world religions class, and we're currently going over hinduism. apparently in hinduism, everything in existence is a piece of Brahman, who is the ultimate reality. I think that was influencing my thinking at the time.
