I've never used it, but I always imagined it was like Facebook but you were allowed to post a while shitton of links without people being annoyed and that that's the whole point of it.

Tumblr is like Twitter plus, where everyone posts shit, follows eachother, copies eachothers shit, and acts like little girls.
