because she is. this will not change her biological sex. i'm not sure anything ever can. please read the original post, or just become more educated in general.

how about you go fuck yourself because i read the first post and it is apparent that she is trying to make her body become more feminine, regardless of the question of it being entirely possible to completely become another sex

That's understandable. The whole gender/sex thing can be very confusing.

But I think Socks considers sex to be determined by the 23rd chromosome, and not hormones or bodily appearance.

And now I'm even more jealous of pqqu :(

I really haven't made much progress at all. I've seen a psychologist just once since coming out half a year ago because of my mom not getting around to doing anything.

Also, pqqu, why aren't you ever on AIM? "Last seen: 67 days, 15 hours, and 43 minutes ago"

Congratulation ^_^
I hope everything works out for you.

How else would sex be determined? XXY, XYY: any Y's and you're a guy D:

I'm not changing my gender, I'm doing things to my body. I don't care much for biological sex but essentially I am moving on a path which will eventually lead to a process which would "change my sex" in a way that seems to grok with most of society, even though legally that can be done far sooner, and in chromosomal terms will never happen. I am giving myself a chance to inhabit my gender socially and personally.

In a way I''m compromising my body to medications and social desires; I'm not a woman trapped in any body, I'm a person with a gender status that society refuses to recognize them. Anyone who asks me to not physically transition to make a political point or cultural rebellion is to me the same as someone asking me not to physically transition because it's a sin against god's plan or whatever.

[spoiler=Chromosomal bitching]Also in terms of chromosomes the process by which sex is determined is not oh you have chromosomes hence sex. I'm unequipped to fully explain this, but apparently the only thing involved in turning baby ovaries into baby testes is activity in the Foxl2 gene. The relationship to chromosomes is definite yet not as causal or direct as you might think. Avoid the opinions if you like, but excerpts from the paper on that is here: http://www.questioningtransphobia.com/?p=1905 .There are oodles of intersex conditions (at least 25) that challenge the absolute hierarchy of xx/xy determination. Interesting also are the alternate forms of sex determinations in wider biology, like XX/X0, ZW, Haplodiploidy, temperature-dependent sex determination (wat), infection (WAT), parthenogenesis (oh ok).
