Cool! The only gripe I have is when people take screens at night. It's often too dark to see properly.

I was just looking at this thread when I decided to take pictures and it happened to be night. I'll take more tomorrow when I work on it more. I was hoping to find a cave system under the island and link the two eventually.

Story time!
So i've been in the habit of mining straight down since so far, every time it has led to a huge cave with tons of lava and iron and gold (even though i just discovered gold is as durable as wood ugh). So I was waiting for a bunch of sand to turn into glass and i decided to have another underground expedition. I mined straight down (with ladders mind you) and found a huge kick ass cave. Fuck yeah. I got 4 diamonds, some iron and gold. Solid loot.
But then a skeleton came out and killed all my health but .5 of a heart, and because i couldnt remember where my initial shaft was, i just started to dig stairs going up, but eventually my pick axes died and i spent 20 minutes punching stone before i made it out.

I understand not gates and how they can extend the signal past 15 blocks but not much beyond that.

I was bedridden with strep throat today (jfhgjdhfgjkhdk) and played a while this afternoon. Started a few new projects.

I'm in the process of putting half blocks in the courtyard. The dome in the distance is the big project I was focusing on for a bit.

The inside. I'm not too sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I want to keep it as a wide open space. I'm kind of regretting not having more glass on the cieling. I might take down a layer of planks and replace it. More light and I could make an arboretum.
I still need to fix the ground and a few funky planks. It's a bitch making gravel scaffolds to add the torches up top, so I'm putting that off for now.

This is something I'll probably end up tearing down, but I would like something similar in its place. I had originally intended on walling up both sides of the valley and having this guy as an entrance, but I'm not sure. It's more just a 2d template for how I want it to look.

Instead I think I'm going to go a different route. I'm planning on making some large, stone hands with a lava filled glass sphere in the middle of them. I made one hand on a mountain as a beacon when exploring and it looked fucking awesome, but I was killed and I cant find it for the life of me.

It is obviously a work in progress but this is my first time playing survival so I am taking it slow

While mining I came across a natural cavern that I have now connected to my basement after exploring the entire thing. There was a dungeon with a zombie spawner which almost killed me but I got the chest and all then walled it off so I would be a bit more safe. It is fairly large so  I am not quite sure what I want to do with it yet. I might do half for just pure mining and the other half I will transform into god knows what.
