So me and a bro are going to have a show on the campus radio station. It is to be an hour long once a week and we plan to play music of some fashion or another. Most likely a variety of somewhat recent releases with some selections of classic rock. We already put together a short intro/theme dealio.

Basically I'm looking for suggestions on a few basic things:

Is it a good idea to have some of it prerecorded or is it best to do it all live?

How much talk/banter do you prefer in your radio?

What awesome promotions should we have? Baguette giveaways?

Any tips or such from people who have done radio/webcast ish things would be cook.
Will the masses of boyagers listen if I link to the stream and inform the of the time?

Also anything else you have to say, of course.

I might possibly run a radio show too.  n_u I'm definitely going to be adding music to the station's playlist, but I'm not too sure about the other details just yet.

I like a lot of banter.  The station I listen to has a off the wall subject to debate. Usually some silly thing that bugs one of them. Like pet peeves, or proper manners.
