And then an innocent man gets convicted of a crime and has no rights and is abused in prison for 20 years before evidence turns up clearing him of the crime.

But it's ok human rights lol

Quoten January 2000, Governor George Ryan of Illinois imposed a moratorium on the imposition of the death penalty in Illinois. In reviewing death penalty cases since 1977, he determined that 13 death row inmates in the state had been cleared of murder charges, compared to 12 who had been put to death. Some of the 13 inmates were taken off death row after DNA evidence exonerated them; the cases of others collapsed after new trials were ordered by appellate courts. "There is a flaw in the system, without question, and it needs to be studied", Ryan said. Ironically, the Republican Governor had campaigned in support of the death penalty. Ultimately in January 2003, Governor Ryan commuted all death sentences to prison terms of life or less.

Even if you want to go with a fictional example of "proving" that the person is completely guilty then I'd like to counter with even the Minority Report is wrong at times. akudood;

You can't strip a person's rights or life solely because they were convicted of a crime.  Salem Witch Trils had many people put to death for being witches with evil magic. Guess how many were guilty

and kaki's tax paying thing. it costs more to put an inmate to death etc. Also find the link in srs discussion where I linked to a map of states with the death penalty then posted a ranking of violent crimes. that also showed death penalties are not effective.

now go to some place like sweden or norway and look at their prison system and crime rates.

I personally think that if you murder someone you should have all your rights taken away. Which means you should either have to sit in a white cell with no windows or any entertainment until the day you die OR you should lose your life. I just don't think people who kill other people should have rights. I also think people who kill other people while under the influence should be in jail FOREVER. The only exception of this I could think of would be if someone came and murdered your family then you went and killed them. I think maybe if you were seeking revenge for someone killing a family member then you should have almost no consequences. I would say their punishment should be to see a therapist. Maybe even like just a year in jail.

I want to know what you think about the death penalty or whatever.

I say we do not need prison at all. We could train them to be front-line soldiers for the military. Maybe. A larger crime would mean more time in the military of course. If you want to kill someone, kill someone we don't care about  doodella;

Also, rapists should have their penis cut off.

because women dont lie about rape and recant later right

And I don't think having more criminals in the army would be a helpful thing.

Especially criminals who then would have combat experience, perfect.

plus what happens to the criminals when the war is over?

"oh sorry too bad we dont like you so you get to live in the jungle/desert/wherever for the rest of your life bye badass "

Not to mention the fact that a good portion of the time psychiatrists convince patients that they were molested as a child when they actually weren't. This is why so many organizations for the sexually abused proudly proclaim that after refusing to let the patients accept that they weren't molested as a child, they have had none of them say otherwise.
