I never got high off of bowls when I first started. You're probably doing it wrong; I didn't figure out the technique until I bought my own bowl and got to experiment on my own without the pressure of my tokin' bros. Try doing a gravity bong or waterfall out of a shitty homemade one. That's the first time I ever felt truly ripped after smoking.
