Ok, I currently attend a public college that is known for it's good teaching program, primarily gym teacher. But I changed my major recently to bio, and though their bio program is decent, it's not spectacular or anything.

The school is mainly just sports-obsessed tool, but I have made a group of really good friends, and have had a decent amount of fun there. Though none of the girls seem to take any interest in me (lol).

I am thinking about transferring to University of Buffalo. It definitely has a much better bio program, they are big on research, and I am also considering changing to nursing, which they have (and my other college doesn't). The campus is also much bigger and definitely more diverse.

The only thing keeping me from transferring is the fact that I'd have to leave my friends. And also I am a little nervous I will feel left out as a new transfer student at a new school.

Any opinions  5thgrade;

You can make new friends. But if you change your major again then what.  I say give it some time and be sure what you want.

My best friend goes to UB; the weather sucks and he lives right in the hood.  Buffalo actually has one of the worst impoverished areas I've been to in the US and I've been to Philly, Bodymore, SE Atlanta, LA, and the Southside of Chicago.

Their bio program is very good though, that's what he's going there for.

I actually go to UB, the bio program is excellent, I have a friend that is in the biomedical program and loves it. The intro level science courses are competitive, generally no curve whatsoever, it's how they weed out the weaker students. Also, you may have to commute between north and south campus for certain classes, though it depends and they have free buses that run all day.  All the frats/sororities are near south campus, and you should never go there alone, unless you like getting mugged/stabbed/whatever the attacker feels up to. Also, I'm assuming you go to Cortland, buffalo is a lot bigger population wise, some classes will have 450 students in them, I'm not sure how big the lectures at your school get. Another note regarding professors is that a lot of science/math professors don't speak English well, but that happens at all colleges. If you really want to do bio, Buffalo would be a good choice, and if you're concerned about meeting people there are like 28000 students here, you're bound to meet someone you like.
