I think they're sad. They obviously don't have parent who love them enough to encourage good hygiene. Or perhaps they're too poor and don't have running water? Did you ever stop to consider that?

Then how are they attending school and able to have books and back packs etc.. ?! && What's stopping them from showering at school the change rooms are open 24/7 at school pretty much. I don't think they need a parent to tell them to take a shower.

Do they dispense free soap at your school too? Perhaps they can only afford the necessary things like school and books and things like soap aren't in the budget.
