hobbit

that this is the 3rd decade that pokemon has seen? it came out in the 90s, it lived through 00-09 and now this is the start of the 10s.

i feel old.

isn't it also weird that kids these days never got to experience the pokemania of 98-2000?? my god, those were the best years of my life. i'll be telling little kids in the future about it. how fucking nuts everyone was about it. man those were good times.

did here not really experience it?

Samus Aran

it was a pretty cool time of my life when pokemon first came out, for sure

i remember the little mini-magazine preview/beginning walkthrough of Red/Blue that came in a Nintendo Power, and you could rip it out and read it on its own. i read that religiously in the week or so before i got the game.

and the cards, oh lord

today while i was cleaning out my desk i found some fake cards that me and my friends used to make. good times.

of course, that old pokemania might be largely gone, but pokemon is still nonetheless very popular.

heh, i made miniature cards. what i did was buy some of those pokemon card magazines, cut out the pictures then laminate them. i wish i still had those things. they were cool.

don't let's

This thread makes me feel bad and old. And yeah, I was very into it back then.

Thyme

I was 10 when Pokémon Red/Blue came out in North America, the anime along with them.

So yeah, I was there for the whole craze. n_u I got off the boat after Gold/Silver, though.
