Question.

Does it have non-coop multiplayer as well, like in the old Nintendo games? You know, one player plays a level and if he dies it's the other player's turn?

I don't think so. I actually really liked this multiplayer in SMW and SMB3. My friend and I beat SMW during last summer and it was incredibly fun.
