i love them but we're not very close. i dont talk to them that much anyway. i think my dad might believe that im still 8.

Skylark

my family life is really strange.
i love both of my parents.
yesterday my dad lit up a joint in the car. this was really funny to me at the time (and now) because when he asked me if i wanted some i think that was his way of bonding.

i love my parents. they're both funny people who have provided a privileged and happy life for me and my siblings.

I'm not distant with either one, but I definitely don't tell them anything. Even "how was school". I just say "fine". School is never fine, but it's an easy answer. Maybe I am distant, come to think of it. But I'm friendly with them, so they don't suspect a thing. Like with most people, I don't talk to them unless they say something to me first.

I hate my stepmom though. Maybe not hate, but tolerate. Everything she does rubs me the wrong way.

hey wait i thought everyone on the internet was supposed to hate their parents and themselves and everybody who's supposed to love them because NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ME BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Anyway, my parents and I are pretty close. Not to the point where they tell me everything, and my mom flat out told me that there's some stuff I shouldn't tell her, she'd rather not know. Her exact words were, "Just lie to me."

Also, on a related note, my sister and I are VERY close. I probably could tell her just about anything.

Eh... I guess we're ok as long as we're kept apart. The more time we're together, the tenser relations get. My mom's really stressed out a lot so she freaks out about little stuff and then my dad has war fatigue which causes him to completely blow up at absolutely nothing

which war
He was involved in the Cold War, Bosnian War, and Iraq war... I think most of the effects have come from the Iraq war though, since the most significant change in his personality happened after he came home from it

your dad has ptsd? that's terrible
Well I don't know that that's been the actual diagnosis, but he has almost a split personality now... Sometimes he's like his old self, other times he'll get angry if you so much as talk to him. And this is after he completed counseling

I've never been very close to either of mine, consciously because I prefer to keep to myself and probably subsconsciously because when they got divorced it fucked up my childhood ideas of parenting

idk man, having them stay together and fight everyday is pretty fucking annoying...

doodthing;

Classic

I really am not close to them.
But I get along with my mom on an adult level.
