I have two older PC's which I can scrap some parts from but I want to build a nice gaming PC. But I have little knowledge on good parts to buy and so on.

So I am asking someone to post everything I will need to build a nice gaming computer for cheap!

Thanks to anyone that helps.

ASUS LGA 775 mobo - about $100-150
core 2 quad CPU - $100-150
6gb ddr2 ram - $60-70
nVidia GT 250 gpu - $70-100
500gb sata drive - $80
sata disc drive - $30
power supply - $60-100
wireless card - $20

so that's $500-600 without a case

Can I just scavenge the disc drive from my older PC?

sure, if it does everything you want

I personally think that's a shitty case

Newer games require better cards. It's probably better to get a more up to date card now that can be used for a few more years.

Then again, I only play Half Life 2 Deathmatch on a 9600m spam;

The artist formally known

only game you need is dialbo 3 and starcrp2

I play GTAIV with Medium to High settings with no lag at all. Runs like 40-50FPS. Which isn't bad at all. Fallout 3 runs at a solid 60-70 FPS.

The problem is, when you get a rather shitty CPU it just bottlenecks the GPU and such.
