The graphics look about the same as Sims 2 actually.
They just added some new features, like areas outside your house, etc.

I dont know about you guys but I thought The Sims was great when it first came out and I spent hours building houses and I'm kinda feeling an urge to play it again. I would always use that money cheat ;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!

Although I could only play in like 3 day periods...then i wouldn't touch it for months.

I STILL don't have this yet.

Even though I spend hours and hours creating sims(the first best part) and building houses(the second best part), just to get overwhelmed by all their needs.
