I am an over-the-top optimist.

I have learned how to lie to myself really well, and will basically think of the best result for everything, even though it rarely happens.

I am neither. To adopt either viewpoint would severely limit one's perspective of reality. I simply let things happen, observing how the play out and reacting accordingly while maintaining an open mindset.
