Should I buy a PSP or a PS2?

I've never owned either of them. The last Sony system I had was my PS1. I really don't know which one to get. I'm primarily getting it for RPGs, and theres one or two decent Shooters for both systems. I'm thinking I'll choose a PS2 just because it's a lot cheaper and there are a lot more games on it. But the PSP also has a fair amount of RPGs and has a lot of homebrew material for it. I don't know which one to get. Also are there many PS2 games that can play online? Because I didn't know PS2 had online capabilities till a few months ago.

You can also do that on the PS2 with a simple softmod.

I have Persona 2 eternal punishment for my PS1 and wasn't a big fan of it. I still might buy it though just for collection purposes.

I'm really looking at getting Eternal Poison, Baroque, Rogue Galaxy,Radiata Stories, Xenosaga,  all the Metal Gear Solids, and Star Ocean.

But at the same time I have a friend who's offering me his PSP for $100...

Also a simple softmod? As in like opening it up? Not just a disc swap?

Are you stupid, a softmod is the one where you don't crack it open. doodthing; Baroque? Xenosaga? What the hell? Persona 4 is awesome.

xenosaga is the most boring rpg i've ever played

and baroque? goonish

The PSP is great... if you love buying collections of 10-30 year old arcade games. It really doesn't offer much of anything besides that.

Oh, and if you ever want to get rid of P2, I'll pay you for it.
