Anyway try holding the sync button while turning the console on, and make sure it boots up all the way before releasing it

E 71 is something related to dashboard update errors, not hardware failure.
Holding the sync button until it completely boots up (after the 360 logo) erases the failed updates so you can download them again or play normally


also that's not how the towel trick works
