I think this is the first thread I've actually been recognized for something!  giggle;
IT MAKES ME WANT TO RECCOMMEND MORE!!! LIKE RATATAT     YPPAH    ALIAS  CHASE & STATUS
SHOOT PLEASE SHOOT.
Also I'm making it my goal to get somebody into dubstep. It's a fairly new genre that is typically slooow beats set to a dark melody with a LOT of bass.  Right now two of my favs are these, they are good for bridging genres to help people get into the genre

And please MUSIC IS MY LIFE so I'd love to talk to anybody else regarding just about any genre I've got a database of underground music in my head that I'd love to share.
but I'm prominent in hip hop - electro
I does not like ratatat. :X
also give me electro you freak

Also I forgot who got me listening to Radiohead. ;____;
I think it was actually Felt, lawl.

I got into James Gang from Houdini and Murder by Death from Snorkel. I think I started listening to BOC because of Kaz, and Kaz might've been a factor in me listening to the Doors a lot more lately.
I support BUSH

Umm I'm not an expert, but house is the typical boom boom boom techno that everyone seems to make fun of. It's pattern is just kick snare kick snare.
Trance is ummm...I think it's faster and it's more aaa hard to explain. Can I explain in video?
House

Trance

to me trance just uses the same song pattern if you will and keeps effecting it, but it's faster. And just uses an all to common synth sound.
Can you kind of see it?
Then there's breaks which cut up the kick snare kick snare formula to kick snare kick kick snare which is more like action scenes in movies

and then drum n bass is the much faster stuff which I've noticed people who like metal this is more accesable to them
and each genre has subgenres like liquid DNB which would be like feel good drum n bass and then there's dark drum n bass
and then there's pioneers who've developed their own sound but still drum n bass (dj fresh, pendulum)
this song is really dope

then there's speedcore which IMO sounds like shit it's got like a snare every beat so it's probably the fastest
and then dubstep

which has evolved from UK garage and drum n bass  which is basically like super slow drum n bass. real dark n moody.
And this is all much more accepted in Europe, which most of it comes from. Like this is what's being played on the radio, check out BBC's Radio 1.  Hope it helps.
