oh thank god i was worried i'd have to learn a new system
it's basically just a 5-star scale but with a little more variation, I've explained this before but here it goes:
A 10-rating scale seems to have too many scores to be useful; the difference between a 6 or 7 isn't very clear, and most people end up just using it like US school grading, where anything below a 6 is bad, making 1-4 pretty useless.

7-rating scale works like this:
1: worst of the worst
2: just bad
3: below average but probably has some merit
4: average, fine but nothing special
5: above average, here and up is where I would recommend to anyone
6: great
7: one of the best of the year

so you have a middle score, and then three varying degrees of bad or good

Technology and globalism go hand and hand. If you want to be on the forefront of technology then you gotta be global

YPrrrr

Saw Funny Face today. Audrey Hepburn is beautiful but the real star of the movie is Kay Thompson imo. All of her scenes are the best in the movie

I like Fred Astaire but the age difference between him and Audrey is pretty distracting. And their romance is weird.

Lots of pretty shots throughout

Scoob! was not good, it was just trying to cram in a bunch of shit to get a "cinematic universe" started and barely had any of Mystery Inc doing much of anything. Voice acting was awkward, and the Simon Cowell jokes holy fucking shit. 2/7

Mando Pandango

It's real dumb but it holds up better than Austin Powers tbh

so many movies

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Surprisingly I enjoy the series still
Transformers: Age of Extinction - Ugh this series though, curious to see how the next one fairs with knights lol
Saw IV - Re-watching with wife she hasn't seen this one, was better than I remember. I remember it being bad lol
Happy Death Day - Was decent, very silly at times, what can you expect
Happy Death Day 2U - Ok this was really silly
Transcendence - I enjoyed the move despite acting was pretty stale and some plot points were really silly
Iron Man 2 - Man I don't remember most of this movie, good thing too it wasn't great
Midsommar - I actually quite enjoyed this movie, very different - some parts were weird as expected

Dolemite
Jesus what a film. 90 minutes. Felt like three hours, which is weird to say, because it's not like I wasn't entertained. It barely held the plot together, kinda wandered about without any indication of where things were about to go. Things happened, and they were related to each other, but there aren't really any story arcs. A bunch of related things happen and then the movie ends.

That said, the reason to watch this movie is to watch Rudy Ray Moore be his ridiculous-ass self-confident poet-talkin motherfuckin self. He's got enough charisma to carry the movie when he wants to, that's for sure.

Favorite part: Dolemite is released from prison at the start of the movie, is greeted by a limo full of bitches with a change of clothes. With the bitches' help he changes into a suit right there outside the prison while everyone watches, gets into the limo, then immediately starts undressing and having sex with his bitches.

Live and Let Die
I had never seen a Roger Moore Bond movie before and I really enjoyed this one. Just tongue in cheek enough that I can still take it seriously while constantly razzing it. Not sure what else to say. It's James Bond. There's a big extended boat chase that starts with a boat (seemingly actually) missing a jump and hitting a tree so that's cool. Tons of great one liners.

Favorite part: Bond fights one of the villains at a pool of sharks. I don't want to spoil how it resolves but I made this face:
