As I walked into school today, I noticed a lot of commotion and excitement.  My initial thought was "I must have just missed a fight". A few minutes later I asked my friend what happened and I was right, there was a fight. I didn't think anything of it though, high school fights are common as you all know.
Anyway, class begins as usual, and everything's pretty normal until fourth period. This time, there were two fights in the same area. At this point I'm thinking "That's odd. befuddlement", but again I didn't think much of it.
Then fifth period comes along, and there was yet another fight. Now I'm wondering if they're all related and how/why it all started. Then sixth period starts, and again, more fights. Now the school begins to worry, and nobody's allowed to leave their classrooms for any reason, not even to go to the bathroom, without an escort. befuddlement
Seventh period begins, and this time, two more fights. Then something serious happens, and the school decides they're not letting anyone out of class for any reason at all. Not even to go to their next class. So for the rest of the day, from around 11:30 until 1:45, I was stuck in Math. I realized something serious was going on when they said not to move to your next class (which was my lunch period cry;), but nobody knew why or what caused it. Then, they cancelled every single after school activity and sent us all home early. Every single student was out of the building by 1:45 instead of the usual 2:00-5:00 for extracurricular activities. The scary thing is, nobody knows how all the violence started and what was serious enough to keep us in a class for over two hours and send us all home early. befuddlement

itt discuss school violence/times you were stuck in a class for longer than usual

That's really weird. So you don't know what was going on? It sounds like something that was previously organized by whatever people started all the fights.

Fights weren't that common at my high school.

The only time that my school has gone into lock down so far was freshmen year when somebody left a briefcase in the new entrance, and it was for only about thirty minutes.  We have a few fights each year, but nothing like that.

Nyerp

There were a couple people that seemed to have an idea of what was happening, but nobody was entirely sure. befuddlement
The teachers stayed in school after we all left for a meeting to discuss this.

Oh, I forgot to mention:

1) I saw not one of these fights, only the excitement afterwards. :|
2) Apparently, one of the security guards who tried to break up a fight ended up becoming a part of it. Three minutes later he was on an ambulance out of there. baddood;
3) Two kids fought right in front of a window and it broke. AWESOME
it was only on the first floor though

Samus Aran

perhaps your school is part of a global war between two ancient tribes of hidden mercenaries and that's why nobody understands what's going on

Kalahari Inkantation

that would be so awesome
