I only use pencils in math. Pens are much preferred.

Agreed, dull pencils or thick mechanical pencil lead blows dicks.

The only time I use pencil is for the tests that use the machine-scanned forms. Otherwise, I pretty much exclusively use pens.
Also there's a such thing as eraseable pens, though they're not the kind I use.
