I'm considering dropping Spanish 3, just because I fucking suck at Spanish. The whole period today, I was just praying that I didn't have to say anything in the stupid language so I wouldn't make a fool of myself. I know that many colleges require 3 years of language, which I will be lacking. Would it be better to drop the class and maintain my 3.8 cumulative (keep in mind that I have no AP classes what so ever), or would it be better to keep the class, and MAYBE pull off a D- or something, which would destroy my GPA.
I also have a lot of community service hours, and I will continue to get them, I have tennis, swimming, DECA, and some stupid community service club.

Even though I'm pretty sure that I'm going to drop the class regardless, I want to know what you guys think.

I haven't heard of a college that requires 3 years of language. 2 years, yeah, but not 3.

And trust me, anyone can get into a semi-decent college if they at least pull an average of C grades as well as doing at least a little above average on a SAT or ACT.

And of course the community service will help if your grades or test scores are lacking.

No, you need more AP classes.

Yay every elective that I haven't taken was full so I'm stuck in Spanish 3. I guess I get to fail and have a horrible GPA now :D

Actually I think I might get a tutor or something.

GPA is a much bigger factor than language courses. You're going to have to take at least two semesters of it in college, and  it's not as big of a deal as some people say it is. That burns that all electives were taken though. Good luck with it!!!

Oh yeah, it's not really a matter of actually getting into college these days, it's which college you go to. And even then it's not that important; most prominent is which graduate school you take.

In preparing for the bigger world, college is the new high school; it's pretty much mandatory if you want to succeed at higher places.

Oh, but wouldn't you want to talk them just to be sure?

Selkie

Today I dropped oceanography and Astronomy and took up Environmental.

I am so happy I got out of shitty oceanography, but I am kinda sad about astronomy, I love astronomy and I was also gonna have one of my most favorite teachers for it  :(

Oh well, life goes on, we live and we learn, we love and we turn, our hearts blaze on, our embers burn ever so brighter in the heat of the night.

Almost anyone can get into college. It all depends on which colleges you are applying to.
