I know they probably aren't something you guys listen to often, but anyways, which anthems are your favorites? My personal favorites are the German and Russian anthems because it just sounds like there's a lot of pride and emotion behind them. The Star Spangled Banner is actually one of my least favorites, but that could also be because Americans don't bother to learn the words so there's no emotion behind it when sung.

Anyways, which are your favorites? And feel free to post them.

But if you don't understand what's being sung that's not as good either.  befuddlement

I have to agree with you on the German one.

I like the Canadian anthem a lot.

I hear the Canadian one almost as much as ours. I kinda like it.

I like Radiohead's National Anthem

Skylark

"Deutsche Frauen, deutsche Treue,
Deutscher Wein und deutscher Sang"

My German was good enough to catch those two lines, funny because:
first bold = German Women
second bold = German Wine

and I think that's pretty funny :)

Then find a translation... Look up the French one, it's nice and bloody.

France's is pretty good too, forgot that one in my first post. Canada's is also one of the better ones

I love Finland's national anthem. It was taken from Sibelius's piece Finlandia and it always chokes me up.
