as i stood there in awe with my eyes slipping through the barely opened door
i viewed a passion awakened at long last
an embrace measured not in duration but in degrees fahrenheit
no one expected--or even suspected that guff and soup would be sharing this unbridled love with one another
but there i was
watching the beautiful miracle of every loved one's life
watching soup press himself against the ever warming body of guff
and guff, melting soup into his lips
each pump with more emotion
and each thrust had more substance than the previous
i wanted to pull myself away, i really did
but i could not stop myself
