Just because someone changes their Display Name does not mean their username and the name they have come to be called suddenly changes and will continue to change every time that user changes it.

EXAMPLES:

DemonPrince's fucking name is DemonPrince, not kefka.
FMR's name is FMR, not Cameron. We're not on a first name basis.
Selkie's name is SELKIE, YOU GOD DAMN IDIOTS, not Killer Tofu.
