I was on the train back into New York today. My co-worker and I were taking up 2 of 3 seats on a 3-seat bench. We had to save the other seat because another of our co-workers was getting on at the next stop. Now, a couple stops ago this British guy had gotten on with his two friends and asked us if we could sit there. We explained that our friend was getting on and he seemed to be okay with it. But about 10 minutes before my other friends stop he went "can I sit there until your friend gets on".

Now, the co-worker who was already on the train was asleep, so it was just me now. I say "actually, he's getting on now" so he starts to get all pissy and he goes "oh, so I could've been sitting down while your friend wasn't here" and I was like "why don't you try another car" and he was like "whatever". I turned around and then he said something in the nature of "fucking americans" so I turn around and say "Once again, you can check another car if you want" and he turned to his other British friend and went "how old is this bloke" and the other one went "he's not even 5 yet" and I remember them both chuckling and I remember myself chuckling at how stupid they were. I turned around and went "old enough to kick your ass". At this point some people had gotten off and my friend was coming in so they got their seats. When the train got to Grand Central I was walking to the bathroom and I saw the guy and said "Have a great day, asshole" and he decided to chase me onto the lower concourse. I didn't really care and I kept walking towards the bathrooms. Suddenly he turns around and says (in the most annoying fucking accent) "I DON'T APPRECIATE YOU FUCKIN' DISRESPECTIN' ME LIKE THAT" and I just said "I don't give a shit" and pushed him off me.
The guy had enough physical contact for the day and walked away. I hope I fucking see him again.

That's crazy. When I got on he was sitting already so I didn't witness any of the conflict. If I had, I would've told one of the conductors or something.

I don't see why British people feel the need to come to America and insult us. I know a lot of people from Switzerland and the Netherlands, and the general consensus over there is that British people are scarcely considered European. They're assholes.
