guys last.fm is trying to melt my macbook pro

I was in programming and realized that my computer was like 180 degrees and it was on for less than 15 minutes.  I checked stuff and saw that my battery life was low.

I shut my computer down until it cooled down and booted it back up.  Same thing: I then checked activity monitor and saw that iScrobbler was using a crazy amount of my cpu.  I quit it and my temperature dropped within minutes and my battery life more than doubled.

This is why I use the official client because it has nifty features.
but i think ya it uses the same amount of resources haven't checked the stats
I do not have HIV/AIDS.

iScrobbler says the official client is bloatware but i dunno how substantiated that claim is.

i just don't like the extra icon stretching my dock.

Maybe you should quit it and restart it next time it does that. Teach it to behave.
