So we just found our NES.....

I'm trying to hook it up, but when I turn it on, the TV blinks black and a lighter shade of black. When I look at the power light, it blinks on and off. Why is this? 


On a side note, do any of you know how to get NES homebrew running on the NES?

There's this one flashcart for the NES bu it costs like nearly 200 dollars so its not really worth it sicne you could just buy a damn good NES collection for that price.
