I'd like to smoke a pipe

Yeah, I'm torn on pipes. Well, not really, but pipes are awesome, and tobacco isn't.

There's that stuff that doesn't have carcinogens in it, but I don't think it's very good

I have smoked weed from a pipe, but that's a different argument.

Chewing tobacco's repulsive and quite pointless. I prefer gum. Cigarettes suck too, although I'm partial to the occasional cigar here and there(celebration purposes). I  bought a corn-cob pipe a while back as a joke and I somehow ended up inhaling a piece of leaf.

What he said, besides I'd add social events to the occasional cigarette. I prefer other substances over tobacco which get the job done.

Regardless of what you smoke, it'll destroy your lungs.

5 packs a day will destroy your lungs.
A bit of weed and the occasional smoke will not.

This is true, living in a major city is more hazardous to your lungs then the occasional blunt of cigarette, in moderation they wont "kill" you or your lungs.

The closest thing I've ever had to a drug is cough syrup. doodthing;

There is a difference between being "straight edge" and just not doing it.

When I was little, I picked up a discarded cigarette butt and pretended I was smoking.  :(
I did too. I remember one time at the beach I picked a bud up, and ran up to my mom with it in my mouth. SHIT WAS SO CASH.

Anyways, I've smoked a few packs in my days, I've just about completely stopped now that I'm seeing my friends uncontrollably fiend for them. It's sad.

And for chewing tobacco, never tried, don't plan on it.

But if you do it 'in moderation' compared to just not at all, you still have a better chance of any sort of problem resulting.

In a world where almost everything can cause cancer and it's impossible to avoid all of it, why would you actually purposely do something that can cause it?

Depends on the person, and the likely "problems" are not ones which are the significant.

You only live once. Not everything can cause caner nor is guaranteed that such activities will give you cancer automatically. As such I take that small risk to do something I enjoy from time to time.
