So you can have more USB ports?

Because I could really use those.

I have one with 5 additional USB ports, but don't really need it yet.

If this work how I think it works then I can plug my printer into it and then print from the other room?

Um...what? All it does is give you extra USB ports. You plug the hub cord into a USB port on your computer, and then you can use all the ones on the hub.

I don't see how that would magically enable you to print from a completely different room. You still have to be connected to the printer, hub or not, unless of course it's wireless.

It is wireless

Then sure, go for it, I guess. As long as the hub is connected to the computer, it's always functioning. At least, that's how mine works.

It's a networked USB hub. Did you even click the link?

"This is a great idea that fell apart in the implementation. Totally worthless on a Mac. On a PC it works when it feels like it. Drops connections. Shows that it's connected when it isn't. Numerous other problems. I suppose if you had a cheap standalone printer, it might be worthwhile, but multi-function devices and larger USB drives fail constantly."

Do you ever read reviews before buying equiptment?? It is not Mac compatible.

Though, other guy with the hideously ugly sig, that is different from a regular USB hub. That would sit next to a wireless router with things plugged into it there, which you could connect to wirelessly (similar to an AirPort Express which can also stream audio to a stereo). A traditional USB hub just splits one USB port on your computer into 2 or more ports.

That was the one that he was looking at dude. I read the system requirements reall quick and it doesn't work on a Mac. He has a Mac, so it won't work for him.... See my logic there?

Yes... where in my post did I contradict what you said? You told him it wouldn't work. I told him how it differs from a simple USB hub, which is what he seemed to want in the first post. :l

Not a bad idea but the connection might not be too stable.

I just bought one a few weeks ago for $5. It has four extra ports and works fine.
