"More solid evidence of what the future may have in store for PlayStation gamers comes courtesy of Phil Harrison, a VP at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. In a recent interview with the Australian Financial Review, Harrison states that there is a good chance that motion detection and facial recognition will be built into the upcoming system, expanding on the idea of the EyeToy, Sony's currently successful camera peripheral. He claims that the PS3 might also have a menu interface that is controlled by hand movements."

This was in 2003, way before the "Revolution" controller was even revealed in September '05. When Sony actually incorporated motion sensing into the PS3 controller, everyone said they copied Nintendo, but since Sony talked about it years before Nintendo showed off its controller, is it really copying? doodthing;

There was a tilt based controller made for psx a long time ago. I remember that psm did an article about it before the ps3 came out to get a better realization of how the ps3 controller would feel.
I searched the internet for like 10 minutes and could find no evidence that it ever existed, though  :(

Actually the first one I know of is from Microsoft or a 3rd party controller for a PC.

I'm pretty sure it was Microsoft
