In elementary  school I had to use a program called  Mavis Becan Teaches Typing. (I did this without looking)

In my elementary school, we have a different "block" every week. For one week.

Art
Music
Technology (That's when we did typing)
P.E
etc.

Once you did a block, you didn't have it again for like 6 weeks.  And then when the teachers tried to make us remember something from back then, (typing skills in particular) and we're like lolwut. They got pissed at us.

I actually knew how to type just fine without any class or typing programs.
I did have Computer Business Skills class from August to December last year, and it had some typing program that we had to do, but it didn't help my typing at all. Actually, it made me worse at typing (we did some speed test before and after, my words per minute was 15 lower after. I think I've recovered that speed, but I freaking hate that program that we had to use.)
