My mom is forcing me to get new shoes. Now, my mom hasn't "forced" me to do anything that relates to my personal appearance in a very long time, but I admit, my 2 year-old Vans are a little worse for wear right now. They're the regular canvas Vans with black/white checkerboard, except they're more monotonal and grey now with stitches and patches.

BUT THEY'RE SO COMFORTABLE.

Anyway, now I have to get new shoes. I don't know where to turn.

I usually get another pair of the same shoes, sometimes one size higher.

I get new shoes like every 6 months.

I have 2 pairs of Nikes.  This year was the first time I owned two pairs of shoes at once.

I have the Adidas Goodyear shoes for school, a pair of Nike Impax for running, a pair of Nike Indoor soccer shoes, and a pair of slipper moccasins for to wear around the house.

I love old wingtipped oxfords, but they're just too uncomfortable to wear all day every day. These seem to be made just for me, in a casual sneaker fashion but with the oxford look... so I might order both and see which I like more, then return the other, because Zappos.com is awesome and charges nothing extra for return shipping.

There's a part of me that wants to get generic Adidas "soccer shoes" (that's what I call them), the thin leather ones with the three stripes on the side, in black with white stripes. I like those for some reason.

I look really weird in anything but extremely low-topped Vans or vintage dress shoes, though.
