my windows 98 screwed up, so my dad installed Millennium Edition on it... i was hoping it would save pictures as .png because 98 didn't

oh yea, on the computer i have right now with xubuntu, whenever there are flash videos, everything lags really badly and i have to restart the computer for it to work properly... windows ME is fine right now...
also, i don't know if my computer will support lots of apps... the one i have right now doesn't let me install anything from applications>system>add/remove D;
