I need to find out how to remove emotes from the drop down menu so they can't be added again.  It will also prevent 39339490 million emotes from being on that list.
...

You go into the file manager or your FTP or whatever you use to manage them, and go to the directory where the smilies are stored. I don't remember exactly, but its somewhere along the lines of themes/default or classic/smilies/yadda yadda yadda

Also, there is a mysql database thing. I forgot what the table is called. Search for it, it's there.

Go to the /boyah/Smileys folder with FTP access. The "Classic" and "Default" folders each contain one of every smiley that you have added even if not used at the time. Delete them in both folders. If you only delete from the Default folder, they will still be on the list just not viewable images.

The drop down list lists all the files in both folders, so it should just be gone when the file is deleted.

Most of them were just stupid, not to mention we'd like to be at least a little more original than that. Plus, they weren't used much, so what was the point of having them?
Some of those were used pretty commonly. Also, we're not more original just because you got rid of a few smileys. For us to be more original, we would need something that sets us apart from other places, and this has nothing to do with that. If we added in resized versions of Rawl's smileys, then sure, but they're still based off these smileys anyways.

Because they don't get removed from the list. It will just show a broken image.

I checked.  I could only find the table for the smileys in use.

and no, the option doesn't disappear when the image is deleted.  It just lets you select a broken image.

also, for anyone else thinking of telling me to use FTP

i said "at least a little"

I have no expectations for this place to be truly completely original in any aspect.

Daddy

okay, i fixed the problem.

Some one set up a "Custom" and "Default" directory for emotes so it was impossible to remove them.  I deleted "Custom"(it wasn't in use) and it works now.
