Paint on Mac

I need help. Im trying to find a good or decent paint program for my mac. I tried to download GIMP but for some reason it didnt want to work. can someone help?

Um, not very many Windows apps run under WINE. Hell, even less run well without locking up, serious graphical errors, or just dying. A basic user can get some apps working by just clicking on the exe and letting Wine do its work, but it's better if you know how computers work and how the app works and what your hardware can do and what app you're trying to run and what the app utilizes and some basic knowledge of your terminal.

and why would he torrent wine that seems like too much work wouldn't darwine be easier or something like fink or mac/darwinports

Assuming he's running Leopard, Gimp just won't work. Most X11 apps just won't work because lazy bastards won't compile for the newest X11 release.
