It's probably as simple as just uploading the MP3 file onto your phone through a USB cable.

convert to aac via itunes, rename it to .m4r, open it, bing its on ringtones list and you may sync with iphone

Funny thing is, this method was possible in 1.0.3 and then Apple fixed it in 1.1.1, and then it was possible again in 1.1.2. I hope Apple doesn't "fix" it again, because paying for ringtones sucks; and only being able to convert some songs to ringtones sucks even more.

I have "Burn This City" and "Comfortable" By Lil' Wayne.

The latter is for text messages and first is for calls.
