So today in Engineering class

We had to learn how to strike an arc on a Stick welder.

It wasn't hard, the only thing was that you can't fucking see what the hell you're doing when you try to strike it.

We had one in New York, too. Well, actually, it was a welding and woodshop combo, with all metalwork done in second semester.

In sixth grade, we had 3D modeling; I forget what seventh was; and in eighth was the woodshop and welding/metalworks. Tennessee (or at least my county) doesn't offer any tech classes beyond slideshow making.
