Now, the real question is how many games run on Vista and how many run on XP.

XP would do much better running games.


If you're playing games, why the fuck would you care what the GUI of the OS looks like? The game is taking up the whole screen.

Actually, right now both ATi and Nvidia's drivers for Vista are very close to getting XP performance.

I haven't used XP in a while, but last I used it, I ran the Crysis MP Beta, and it ran exactly the same in XP as in Vista.  Back in January and February though, XP was much better for gaming.

And when you start a full screen app up, ie a game, Vista turns Aero off.

Its the drivers that were behind, not Vista itself

I only used FRAPs, I don't have any graphs or anything.

Excluding lags, I guess you're right, seeing how OS X only froze up once, as apposed to about twice on Windows (that I can remember).

Vista is a fine OS, it's just taking the same hits that XP took when it came out (so it seems) which is basically compatability.

I was pissed when I found out most of my XP games wouldn't run on Vista, because I had already upgraded. HOWEVER, I had the exact same problem going from 2000 to XP, so I cannot really hold it against the OS.

Other than compatability, and the fact that it eats up a lot of RAM, apparently, I haven't had any real issues with it. People just need to give it a chance =P

Btw, never used a Mac system, so I can't really compare the two. If you say Mac is better, than K, I'll believe you, but Vista isn't as bad as everybody thinks xD
