Meh, not in my area. I've seen three high schools and the middle school I went to and all the regular lockers didn't use separate locks (the locks were built into the locker). In the middle and high schools I've gone to, the gym lockers have separate locks and the students aren't allowed to use their own and have to borrow one from the school.

im my school the locks are attacjed to lockers. but in the gym locker room, we have to use our own.
