It's pretty darn good as an Action RPG. It still has some very NISA-style combat mechanics such as you can equip five weapons, and they'll each take a place in a combo, combined with a Magic Die system which determines the power of the following attack in a chain. You can also spend "Anima" to level up individual weapons and such, gain new powers, lower or raise monster levels, and so on.

The Japanese voice-acting is typically better than the English, but the only voice-acting that stands out as bad to me is a certain bad person.

The story is a fucking rollercoaster and you'll take a few days to sort through that.

You don't ever play as Metallica herself, but it's okay. The Hundred Knight is actually a pretty likable negrodemonbaby of some sort.

Like everything, I post screenshots to my Steam account. If it's not linked yet, I'll do it now. I'm pretty easily visible in the Boyagers group as Battleship Musashi.
