mmm i loved that game back in the day. i rememebr getting my 17 year old friend to buy three fucking copies of that game for himself, me at 16, and my other 16-year-old friend so we could all play it. i really want the "remaster" or whatever but the lowest its gotten is like 14 bucks and ive played through it so many damn times i ONLY WANNA PAY 10

yeah the backtracking was objectively the worst part of it, but it was so great otherwise

i am definitely enjoying it a lot so far. i think i did prefer swordmaster dante's playstyle from 3 more than nero, but nero's still plenty fun with the devil bringer and all, makes it way easier to keep combos going

also i have just one story mission left in valkyria chronicles ii. it's rather disappointing that the last two missions are basically the same as they were in the first game...board giant ship, destroy radiator thingies, then fight souped-up valkyria-morphed big bad final boss

it really is great. I dunno what people are talking about when they say it was not so good.
I don't remember exactly the people who said that, but I know people did.

imo, the order for best to worst in the original series goes 3, 4, 1, then 2

beat the throne on nuclear throne
damn good game and one of the better roguelites i've played. i think i logged around 25 hours before i beat it

however i don't have much of a desire to beat it with other characters or go for the loops so idk

Also interesting to note, that ultra and super combos are essentially gone, but in place is the critical art, which is engaged just like a super, but behaves as an ultra.
