Ew, you're actually using AIM? Use a client that does AIM but isn't so god-awful.

It loads much faster than Trillian and is just great if all you wanna do is chat and organize your buddy list with aliases and stuff. However it doesn't support video or audio chat.

You're an idiot. Pidgin is the client and AIM is the IM-platform; also, Pidgin supports many clients at once.
